Incident
Users may be experiencing issues sending and receiving messages
Issue Summary:
On Tuesday, July 23, from around 7:12 AM PDT until around 10:20 AM PDT, some users reported that messages were taking up to 15 minutes to arrive to recipients. Affected users may have received notifications for the delayed messages without them appearing in Slack on time.
We discovered that a server responsible for handling message delivery paths was experiencing connectivity issues leading to delayed message delivery. We mitigated the workload of the affected server to improve performance, resolving the issue for affected users. Message delivery should no longer be delayed.

Users should no longer be experiencing issues with sending/receiving messages or assets not loading. We apologize for any inconvenience.
1:00 PM PST
We're seeing some signs of improvement. The delayed message backlog is clearing, but we're still monitoring the situation to ensure things return to normal. We'll be back once we have another update to share.
9:57 AM PST
We continue to investigate the root cause of this issue. Users may experience messages taking 5 to 15 minutes to arrive even in notifications are immediate. Restarting the app has restored functionality for some users.
9:33 AM PST
Users may be experiencing connection timeouts which may cause issues sending/receiving messages or assets not loading. We're investigating and will let you know as soon as we know more. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.
