Trouble uploading files to Slack

Issue summary: On September 23, 2024 from 12:11 AM PDT to 9:04 AM PDT, some users may have experienced issues uploading to or deleting files in Slack. A backend job responsible for file management became overwhelmed, causing an unusual spike in error rates that affected the ability for users to manage their files. We temporarily paused the job to allow pending items to finish processing. During this time, we also released an update to the backend logic to improve processing efficiency. Once the error rates normalized and the job returned to a stable state, we resumed the process, resolving the issue for all affected users.

We're no longer seeing issues with uploading files, however, we'll continue to monitor the situation. We'll provide another update when have more information or when we're confident that the issue is fully resolved for all users.
