Incident

Some users may have trouble loading threads.

Summary

Issue summary:
On Friday, October 11, 2024, from 4:08 AM PDT until 4:50 AM PDT, users experienced an issue with loading their threads, coming across a "Something's a bit fishy!" error message.

We traced this back to a performance issue with a backend database responsible for processing certain thread actions, resulting in requests not being served correctly.

To mitigate any immediate impact, an automated safety measure initiated the restart of the database services. This improved database performance, but the process took longer than expected, contributing to the errors users experienced. Once this process completed, threads began loading without error.

12:34 PM PST

The issue with loading threads has been resolved. Please reload Slack (Cmd + Shift + R on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows/Linux) and threads should reappear.

We apologize for the disruption to your day.
