Issues with custom statuses
From October 16th, 2024 at 10:05 PM PDT to 1:37 AM PDT October 17th, 2024, some users experienced issues with their user status.
Statuses couldn't be cleared, and the expiration reflected current time. In some cases, statuses had defaulted to "In a meeting".
We traced the issue back to a delay in the job queue that handles custom user status updates.
Once we were able to clear the jobs causing the delay, we rolled out a fix resolving the issue for impacted users.

The issue with custom statuses has been resolved. Please reload Slack with cmd / ctrl + shift + r to see your status reflect correctly.

Some users may be experiencing issues with their custom status, including scheduled statuses not expiring as expected or statuses sticking around after being cleared. We're on the case and we'll be back with an update as soon as we have more information. Thank you for bearing with us.
