Incident

Issues with the channel list

Summary

Between approximately 12:35 PM PST on November 11, 2024, and 10:05 PM PST on November 12, 2024, users may have experienced some channels missing from their default section in their sidebar. This issue was initially handled as a bug report, but due to the widespread impact on end users, we enacted our incident response processes. Through our investigation, we traced the problem to an issue with backend code logic. This code was incorrectly categorizing these conversations as App/Integration DMs, resulting in these conversations being moved to an incorrect location in the users' sidebar. To resolve the issue, we reverted the problematic code, restoring affected channel destinations in the sidebar. *We adjusted this summary's impact start time to reflect more accurately, we apologize for any confusion.
