Incident
Some users may be having trouble with emojis.

Starting around 8:00 AM PST until about 8:30 AM PST on February 6, 2025, some users experienced issues with emojis rendering properly in Slack, displaying only the emoji names.
We traced this back to a scaling issue with a database service responsible for rendering emoji requests. We temporarily redirected incoming traffic away from the problematic database service to address the scaling issue. Once the issue was resolved, traffic was returned to the proper databases, restoring emoji rendering functionality for all affected users.
1:27 PM PST
Users should no longer be experiencing any trouble with emojis.
Apologies for the trouble today and thank you for your patience.
10:36 AM PST
