We resolved the issue users were experiencing with recently uploaded emoji loading in Slack. We apologize for any disruptions to your day and appreciate your patience as we sorted this out.

Update

The emoji issue appears to be limited to very recently uploaded custom emoji. We have identified a few delayed backend processes as a possible cause.

We have restarted these processes and though they are now updating correctly we will monitor to ensure that emoji are loading as the changes deploy.

We are receiving reports from users that custom emoji are not loading. We are looking in to this and will report back when we have more information.
