Incident

Issue with switching between workspaces in the desktop app

incident done Summary

On February 5, 2025, from 6:42 PM PST until 7:13 PM PST, some users were unable to switch workspaces by clicking the icons in their sidebar

A recent code change introduced an unexpected error to the workspace switcher logic. This caused an invalid persistent user state, preventing Slack from routing the user to the correct workspace.

We rolled back the change to a healthy version, resolving the issue and restoring functionality.

To capture the fix, users may have needed to close and re-launch their Slack app.

Resolved

We've resolved this issue and you should now be able to switch between workspaces by clicking the workspace list or with keyboard shortcuts as normal.

You may need to refresh your app to pick up the fix. To do so, please open Slack and press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R. Slack will reload but will not sign you out.

Thank you for bearing with us. If you have any further trouble, please let us know at feedback@slack.com.

Note: We have updated the title of the incident to better reflect the situation.
