Incident
Unable to send messages in GovSlack

On February 24, 2025 from 12:07 PM PST to 1:22 PM PST, GovSlack users may have experienced issues sending messages, accompanied by a "Slack couldn't send this message" error.
A recent change to our GovSlack infrastructure caused intermittent failures when provisioning additional databases to meet usage capacity. These failures resulted in an increased load on our existing systems, which lead to an increase in errors when attempting to send messages in Slack.
In response, we rolled back the recent infrastructure changes and manually increased capacity to ease congestion on our systems, which restored normal performance for all impacted users.
